Reesie's Project Outreach Adoption Success Story

Romeo

Romeo is part a litter of ten pulled with their mother from a caretaker who was left to care for the puppies by her roommates, who abandoned them on the property. The caregiver provided for them the best she could with very limited resources. Local churches and other sources were able to provide her with food to feed the huge group. The caregiver however fell on extreme hard times and ultimately was facing eviction. She contacted Reesies Project Outreach for assistance. RPO was able to assist in taking all the dogs off the property at the 11th hour prior to the eviction. A Fauquier couple who own a farm equipped to handle the number of pups stepped up to foster.

All are outgoing and very socialized despite their rough start. They are extremely loving and given the mix breed of Australian cattle dog, THEY ARE EXTREMLY SMART and very eager to please.

Romeo stands up to his name he never fails to flop on his back for a belly rub or give kisses if you want them or not!

We first met Romeo when we walked him in the Warrenton Christmas parade. Jim now says he wanted to take him home then. But was afraid of overloading me as we already had 3 dogs at home. When we had the chance to bring Romeo home for fostering we jumped at the chance. Within a few days and he was part of our pack. When an adoption application came in on him we started to cry as we KNEW we couldn't let him go and that he was already in his forever home. We are very happy that we made that decision and he marvels us every day.
